Bring It On
A WORD TO THE WISE, PEOPLE
FITSNews – January 29, 2008 – We were going to use a picture of circling sharks or the new Cloverfield monster for this article, but for some reason Kirsten Dunst (above) seemed to fit the bill. She does have a snaggletooth, after all, and she did star in a movie called “Bring It On,” which pretty much sums up our attitude towards the critics. Well, if you take out all the cheerleading drama.
Anyway, over the past year that we’ve been writing this little website, we’ve received death threats, lawsuit threats, had a P.I. on our tails and been subjected to all manner of insults, innuendos and other indignities. C’est la vie, we say … if we weren’t catching flak, how else would we know we were over the target?
Look, people also say we’re the life of the party ’cause we tell a joke or two, and although we might be laughing now, honey, deep inside we’re blue. So take a good look at our face, you’ll see our smile looks out of place, if you look closer, it’s easy to trace the tracks of our tears. Wait a minute, was that an inadvertent Big Chill flashback? Yikes …
For all the critics, though, we thought today was as good a day as any to issue this very simple reminder: We ain’t skeered.
Life’s just too short not to say what you think, or to worry about offending people who pretty much walk around asking to be offended.
The fact is we live in the most ass-backward state in America, people, one run by a wasteful, corrupt legislature, a liberal, for-profit judiciary, a bumbling, Constitutionally-neutered chief executive and of course all the shady, special interests who prop the whole thing up.
And people wonder why our state’s economy sucks, our health care sucks, our crime situation sucks and our public education system really, really, really sucks – all despite a state budget that’s grown by 41% in the last three years.
We’re just throwing this out there, but maybe if the “powers that be” in South Carolina spent a little more time trying to fix the mess we’re in with real solutions (and a little less time wasting your money) things would be better off.
Again, we’re just saying …

Something tells me you’ll give the biggest “shady special interest” in the state a free pass.

Let me just say that after 62 years of being a New York State resident, life in South Carolina is about as good as it gets. NYS government has imploded, exploded and libploded. SC govn. on the other hand appears to just need a few nuts tightened and a couple of screws applied.

OK, OK. Your shit doesn’t stink. We get it.

#3 – Harden, Sic Willie’s sh*t stinks unbelievably bad. He blew up his girlfriend’s apartment yesterday afternoon, as a matter of fact, and it smelled so foul that the cat ran away and hasn’t come back.
#2 – Wayne, you’re retarded. Or senile. Probably both.
#1 – Ross, as we’ve said repeatedly in the past, we don’t always approve of the pro-school choice tactics. But we do approve of their objective, which is to improve academic achievement in this state. Also, we hate to call you out like this, but you’re the last person on the planet who ought to be accusing anybody else of being biased. Stick to being funny, dude. You’re much better at that than this new shtick serving as Superintendent Rex’s ass-wiper.
Anybody else got a complaint? Step on up and get served …

This is the biggest load I have ever heard in my entire life.
Will Folks helps put Thomas Ravenel in the Treasurers Office, and he has the audacity to give a lecuture on morally corrupt government.
Will, you are a good writer, but this hypocrisy is about to make me Ralph…
Can you get any shadier then Ravenel and the voucher lobby interests? Give me a break

Sic Willie, here’s the deal on SC government. I’ve been around the block in Columbia with these yahoos a few times, so I know a little about the topic.
The Democrats ran South Carolina for a century and did a fair job of it. Carrol Campbell convinced enough of his buds from “the club” to switch parties and the Republicans took over. Not much changed in Columbia. Not a hint of GOP fiscal conservatism. Why? The players didn’t change. They just changed uniforms. Same good ol’ boy system. Same rules. Same players. No change.
Now we have Governor Moonbeam who isn’t a part of “the club” and he is an emasculated shadow of a Governor. Ya don’t play with the big boys according to their rules and they leave you on the bench.
So you wonder why SC is 51st in everything? It’s the same ol’ good ol’ boys running the show with the same rules that worked for the Democrats for a century. We’re still stuck in Reconstruction mentality and it isn’t likely to change anytime soon.
So go suck on a raw persimmon and grimace.
