We’re Actually Recommending A Rap Album …
MEET BROTHER ALI, THE ALBINO MUSLIM BABY DADDY WITH THE LYRICAL QUICKNESS …
FITSNews - January 25, 2008 - Given Sic’s rock-n-roll background, he’s often asked what kind of music he listens to. As if he was some sort of an expert or something. Seriously, you really wanna listen to a guy who played in a bunch of bands nobody’s ever heard of and spends all of his time listening to a bunch of bands nobody’s ever heard of?
Anyway, Sic’s favorite musical composition is Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 in D Minor, a.k.a. the “Ode to Joy,” but his roots come from the pure Southern school of alt-rock pioneered by bands like R.E.M. and Dillon Fence. But like the diversity of our website, such is the diversity of Sic’s musical palette, which today includes a major shout-out to Brother Ali, whose latest offering “The Undisputed Truth” is off the chain, yo. If you’re interested, you can sample Ali’s flow by CLICKING HERE, but sadly the best song on the album - the in-your-face, bass-grinding opening anthem “Whatca’ Got?” - isn’t anywhere to be found online (without paying for it, anyway).
Brother Ali, who as a full-fledged albino is as white as they come, nonetheless raps with a conviction we relate to. Sure, he’s a devout Muslim, but not only are his tunes well-crafted and chock full of what the kids call “dope beats,” they also have what we think is a positive, uplifting message. Specifically, Ali is all about being a good “baby daddy” to his kid and not sweating the critics too much. Which makes him a natural recommendation for Sic to make …
