… IS GIVE FLEECE A CHANCE

FITSNews – January 24, 2008 – It’s almost comically insensitive to write anything critical about John Edwards at this stage of the 2008 Democratic presidential campaign. That would be like criticizing a bug for squashing itself on your windshield, or asking a punching bag why it keeps getting its ass kicked by Lennox Lewis.

South Carolina is pretty much sewn up for Barack Obama, with Hillary Clinton running a respectable second. Edwards, who won South Carolina back in 2004 (when he wasn’t running as a socialist) is so far off the radar that radar operators are actually confusing him with a flock of seagulls.

Anyway, assuming there’s any drama whatsoever associated with South Carolina’s democratic presidential primary (and the eight people who will likely vote in it), you can read all about it over on Brad Warthen’s Blog, which recently gave us the line-by-line on why La Socialista decided to endorse Barack Obama.

“I would really like us to be talking about Joe Biden or Bill Richardson,” said Associate Editor Cindi Scoppe. That leaves her with what she sees as “an emotional decision,” which initially makes her uncomfortable. Cindi usually prefers the wonkiest option, but in the end she’s quite OK with “going for the exciting person who gives us hope.”

You know, it’s great to know that Cindi usually prefers the wonkiest option, people. In fact, we can’t tell you how worried we were that she may have allowed herself to be seduced by all the hope and excitement surrounding Barack-A-Oprah-Rama-Bama. We’re actually endorsing Obama too, but we’re pretty sure this chick has something to do with it … not that crazy six-toed Oprah.

I wish the media would not comment on who is ahead in the polls or who they think will win – and work more on educating the voters on the major issues of the day .

Rather than pontificate and regurgitate the latest polls to us – try educating us as to how Hillary or Barack or John Edwards will balance the budget sic willie? Or how they will pay for their health care programs?

Or should we just not care about the real issues and go vote for whoever is ahead in the polls so we can feel good about voting for the winner?
