I believe Jesus said something along the lines of Give to Ceaser (government) what is Ceaser's and give to God what is God's.

That is really a powerful thought when you think of it. I support Huckabee, but not for reasons outlined by the major media market. While I am a Christian, I am NOT voting for Huckabee for that reason.

I am actually voting for him because he cleaned up the mess left by Jim Guy Tucker in Arkansas, (where politics is wheeling and dealing affair), and because Huckabee has the guts to support the Fair Tax, which just might be the best long term solution for America's economic engine.

I don't have the inclination to hang around country clubs or over the top holy rollers. But, I will defend both. Most of them are just doing the best they can. Sure, there are some cynical manipulators and some nutjobs out there. But, the vast majority of those folks are pretty decent.

If Huckabee does not make it, I will cast my vote for McCain in the General or Rudy if miracles or miracles, Rudy's rope a dope works. It won't be the end of my world. I will still support the Fair Tax.

When will the the christian conservative Republicans finally realize how silly it is that they continue to be in bed with country club Republicans? Fiscal conservatives dislike government aid to the poor, who, in turn, are loyal churchgoers that have somehow been convinced that a rich, corporate pandering, country club Republican is actually someone who cares about christian morals. Its amazing how a little lip service to christian morals will make these poor souls vote against their wellbeing, and in droves. 9 out of 10 Southern Baptist would rather have a candidate that's against abortion than have affordable healthcare. Why do christian conservative leaders encourage single-issue voting when the result is that their followers must cut off their nose to spite their face? Doesn't the christian conservative leadership care about the wellbeing of their base? Country club Republicans just need your vote and they'll kick you to the curb. And will you see a proposed amendment to outlaw abortion or gay marriages? Nope. Will you see support for school prayer or christian morals being taught in school? Nope. Will country club Republicans continue to support privatization when it means enriching their already rich corporate friends? Yes! Are any of them really leading by Christian values? Nope. Do they really care if you live or die so long as you cast your single-issue vote? Nope. But 9 out of 10 Southern Baptists will vote for that Republican. And when the next election rolls around, you'll be able to get an abortion easier than you can pray in school and the poor christian conservative will still be scrapping to put clothes on their children's backs while the country club Republicans will be laughing amongst their friends about how a little lip service to Jesus was all it took, no action, no conviction.
