BOLTS UPSET COLTS IN NFL PLAYOFFS

FITSNews – January 13, 2008 – In the final analysis, the Indianapolis Colts were not only a notch below the hated New England Patriots this year, they were a notch below the San Diego Chargers‘ second-stringers. With star running back Ladainian Tomlinson and quarterback Phillip Rivers both knocked out of the lineup, the Chargers still managed to pull off a fourth quarter comeback against the defending Super Bowl champs en route to a 28-24 victory.

Led by backup quarterback Billy Volek, San Diego marched 78 yards for the game-winning touchdown with 4:50 remaining, and then relied on its stingy defense to foil both of Indy’s attempted comeback drives in the final minutes. As a reward for its hard-earned victory, the Chargers now get a date in Foxboro against undefeated New England for the AFC title.

Needless to say, the tears are flowing hard right now over at Chez Sic Willie. In fact, our favorite man-child is reportedly burning his 1988 Eric Dickerson throwback jersey, which he wore for the first time today. Bad luck, blue eyes, goodbye, baby …
