The Boston Celtics Are Pretty Good
THEY’VE EVEN GOT CHEERLEADERS, PEOPLE
FITSNews – January 3, 2008 – For the record, we could give a rat’s rear end about the NBA. If you like watching tattooed gazillionaires loaf up and down the court trying to remember what it was like to play defense, that’s your thing. As for us, we’ve seen more stimulating athletic contests at the senior center.
Anyway, for a league that’s about as exciting as watching two newts wrestle, the oft-maligned Boston Celtics are actually pretty good this year. In fact they’re very good, posting the best record through thirty games since the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls also started 27-3 en route to a record-setting 72-win season and the fourth of Michael Jordan’s six league championships. The Celtics still have an NBA-record 16 championships, of course, but have gone 21 years now without a title.
Other than giving us an excuse to post a picture of the Celtic girls, writing about Boston’s remarkable hardwood success (spearheaded by S.C. native Kevin Garnett) also enables us to link you to House of Pain’s famous video “Jump Around,” which is pretty cool. At least it’s cool until three weeks later when you’re hopping around like an idiot in the shower because the infectious song is still stuck in your head.
