GEORGIA IS REALLY, REALLY, REALLY GOOD, PEOPLE
FITSNews – January 2, 2008 - After watching No. 5 Georgia utterly annihilate an undefeated Hawaii football team last night in the Sugar Bowl, we were literally rubbing our eyes and muttering aloud as we contemplated our beloved Gamecocks’ victory over the mighty Dawgs back in September.
Specifically, did it really happen? It just doesn’t seem possible given the way Georgia played last night – and given the way South Carolina did what it does every year, namely choking like the bunch of chickens we are.
South Carolina didn’t get invited to a bowl game this year, but even if the Gamecocks had received a bid to the Poulan Weedeater Bowl or some other ridiculous excuse to hold practices for another month, we weren’t going to make the trip like we did last year. There’s just something wrong with rewarding a 6-6 football team, people. Like the fact they don’t deserve it.
Oh well, at least Clemson got beat for the second year in a row by an SEC team … meaning the best conference in college football is now 6-2 in bowl games this year while the ACC is 2-5.
