IT SUCKS BEING THE FRONTRUNNER

FITSNews – December 18, 2007 – It seems no matter where you turn these days, somebody is taking a shot at former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee. Not surprisingly, the barrage began right about the time Huckles took the lead in early presidential primary states like Iowa and South Carolina. In fact, it’s gotten so bad in recent weeks that Huck is even starting to catch grief from his opponents for being … wait for it … too funny.

Of course, Huck’s biggest sin of late was (accurately) criticizing President George W. Bush for having an “arrogant bunker mentality” with respect to the War in Iraq, a comment that has been seized upon by his Republican presidential rivals – all of whom are looking for opportunities to blunt his momentum and portray him as out of touch with the party’s base.

As funny people ourselves, we like Huck. In fact, of all the presidential candidates we’ve interviewed he was by far the most genuine, likeable and honest. We also loved his Chuck Norris ad, and the fact that his meteoric, out-of-nowhere rise in the polls is making former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney piss himself.

We probably won’t end up voting for Huckabee because he has a sh*tty fiscal conservative record, but then again we haven’t voted since 1992 so that’s unlikely to significantly impact his chances. We will say one thing for the guy, though. At least there’s one candidate for president this go-round who isn’t made completely out of plastic …

Ummm, what? If anything the guy is completely made out of plastic! He stood on the stage and explained that he believes this planet is 6,000 years old. At least he’ll get along with Kristin.

And as for genuine, I’ll bet he’s exactly the same fella talking to you that he is flying Arkansas’ State Highway Patrol plane around for political events and asking the State Congress for “any taxes they can enact.”

What a super guy. Whatever! Just admit it…RP2008!

Oh yeah, and that whole circular motion his jaw makes when he talks. I don’t like that either.

Gee Chris, such critical thinking and analysis I”ve not seen in, oh, I don’t know, maybe since the last Paul-bot response I read a couple of seconds ago.

An objective and honest review of the accomplishments Huckabee achieved while governor of Arkansas for 10+ years tells a different story. Perhaps by reading critically the evidence and analyzing for yourself (rather than simply parroting nonsense from Huckabee’s opponents) you might come to a different opinion of Governor Huckabee. At least Governor Huckabee has a record of accomplishments. As a Governor, forced to live within a balanced budget and innumerable unfunded federal mandates, I’d
say Huckabee did a damn good job in Arkansas and would bring those same principles to DC.

Look no further than his campaign. What he has done with the few bucks he’s had is nothing short of a miracle…and pure genius. Now take that kind of thinking to DC. As Huckabee himself has said, we don’t need more taxes. We need less spending. Hardly a liberal – or plastic – position, I’d say.

Bring on the most beatable Republican!

He can eat at Maurice’s after he gets his ass handed to him in the SC primary.

mijeel, they can say anything they want, so long as they back it up. I’m sick of hearing “what i’ll do” when it’s the complete opposite of “what i’ve done.” Call me a Paul-bot if you’d like, but when the man talks, you know it’s the truth. Every bit of it is backed up from day one. Show me some of that kind of character in one of our manufactured candidates, please.
