S.C. Representative Is Cybersquatting
JOLTIN’ JOE MAHAFFEY BUYS UP OPPONENTS’ DOMAIN NAMES
FITSNews – December 17, 2007 – The only thing we know about S.C. Rep. Joe Mahaffey is that back in the late sixties he was president of the “Golden Strip Civitan Club,” which thankfully had nothing to do with him taking his clothes off, we’re told. Of course thanks to the ever-industrious Bob Dalton of the Spartanburg Herald-Journal, we now know that Mahaffey is also a cybersquatter, or somebody who purchases their political opponent’s domain names and either sits on them or uses them for nefarious ends.
According to Dalton’s story over the weekend, Rep. Mahaffey has purchased two domain names linked to his GOP challenger, former S.C. Rep. Rita Allison. In doing so, he’s taking a page out of the playbook that former S.C. Gov. Jim Hodges used unsuccessfully in his re-election bid against current Gov. Mark Sanford.
We seldom straight-up refer to people like this, but “pussy” is pretty much the only word that captures the essence of Mahaffey’s tactics – and we don’t even have a dog in this squat – er, fight. So don’t be a pussy, Representative. Give the lady her domain names back, or at the very least offer to sell them to her for whatever it was your sleazy consultant paid for them.
UPDATE – According to the turdblossoms over at Sh*tPolitics.com, we’re actually in agreement with Spartanburg’s own Mr. Potato Head on this issue. Damnit … we can feel our IQs dropping already!

Oh, sic(k) willie, you’re complaining about someone doing “dirty tricks” with domain names? Cybersquating!? One “t” or two “tt” ?? How about come clean on your “squat” stuff?? It would overflow a toilet!!
