YANKEES SLUGGER AGREES TO 10-YEAR, $275 MILLION CONTRACT
FITSNews – December 14, 2007 – New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez is once again the richest man in sports, eclipsing the 10-year, $251 million contract he signed with Texas back in 2000 by inking a gargantuan 10-year, $275 million deal with the Bronx Bombers yesterday.
Rodriguez cut the deal on his own – sans agent Scott Boras – who appears to have misled the slugger about the Yankees’ interest in re-signing him.
In twelve full seasons in the big leagues, Rodriguez has blasted 518 career home runs, and his contract is loaded with incentives related to his pursuit of baseball’s all-time home run record.
Now if New York can just figure out a way to get the two-time MVP to hit in the playoffs …

Hey. At least he isn’t on steroids… according to Mitchell, at least. Unlike the rest of the Yankees.

Is it too early to celebrate Boston’s back-to-back World Series titles? ‘Cause we know the Yankees won’t make it out of the ALCS, you know, if they can get that far.
