I think it will have to happen from the us justice department. it is mcmasters job to protect the domain/institution that is the quindom.

I think that quite possibly something is quietly happening now:

1. Robert Stewart leaving to start a private consulting firm…whatever

2. Ed McMullen leaving to start a public affairs firm…whatever who in the hell needs another republican lobbyist.

3. Doug Smith retiring to spend more time with his family?

4. Shirley Hinson retiring to take job at lowcountry graduate center…she is already working there.

Just keep watching, there is an investigation going on and I am sure that will folks will bring the news to us first.

Hey Ron, McMaster had nothing to do with Operation Lost Trust, that was Bart Daniels. McMaster’s big ‘contribution’ to criminal justice was Operation Jackpot that put a few drug dealing restaurant owners in jail in Charleston. But I do agree it is time for another round of inquiry. Perhaps with a AG or US Atty interested in more than the next political office to seek it just might happen!

Thanks Billy for your observations. Especially “any hungry newspaper could easily have half the lobbyists and politicians in Columbia jailed by Easter.” I’ve suspected that and have often wondered if we’d ever have another U.S. Attorney with the kind of guts that Mcmaster had when he pursued “Operation Lost Trust.” I believe and apparently you do also that it’s long past time of “Operation Lost Trust II”, a sequel. It beats the heck out of me how we’ve had no meaningful ethics reform legislation since the aftermath of “Operation Lost Trust” around 1992.

I love the ignorance people have about journalism. Anybody that’s been a working print journalist for any length of time knows that there is no bias, just situational conditions. The only bias reporters have is for a good story. It’s impossible for that many people to be “in” on such a suspected conspiracy.

But, keep those aluminum foil hats on, boys. It makes you look sexxxy.

The State Newspaper has a bias, and it refuses to budge from it.

They love the cabinet, and hate the legislature…so do not expect critical coverage of cabinet agencies.

They love single payer government run health care…so do not expect negative coverage of Medicare or Medicaid.

They love public education and hate vouchers, so don’t…..well, you get the point.

Any “hungry” newspaper could easily have half the lobbyist and politicians in Columbia jailed by Easter…but the State lollygags along, living in LaLa land…proving the point that ignorance is truly bliss.
