INDY MOVES TO 8-2 WITH WORKMANLIKE WIN OVER KANSAS CITY CHIEFS

FITSNews - November 18, 2007 - With its vaunted offense sputtering and its special teams looking a lot like Clemson’s of late, the Indianapolis Colts of 2007 are a far cry from the well-oiled machine that won last year’s Super Bowl. Having said that, in the immortal words of Monday morning quarterbacks everywhere, “a W is a W is a W.”

And a “W” is precisely what Indianapolis walked away with after today’s uninspiring 13-10 slugfest with Kansas City, a sloppy win over an average team that nonetheless halted a two-game skid and kept the Colts in the driver’s seat in the treacherous AFC South Division.

With the hated Patriots hogging all the NFL attention this year - including an ESPN special report that aims to find head coach Bill Belicheat’s “inner teddy bear” - perhaps the silver lining for Colts fans is that Indianapolis can fly largely under the radar for the remainder of the season. The bad news? If New England keeps winning, we have to play them in Foxboro during the playoffs. Which means both Peyton Manning and the weather will be cold.

Oh, and for all you John Deere owners out there, the Carolina Panthers got their asses kicked again today - with Yoda at starting quarterback.
