The Wind Beneath Our Wings
WE COULD FLY HIGHER THAN AN EAGLE, PEOPLE
FITSNews - November 18, 2007 - The one good thing about being a Clemson fan is you don’t have to relive an awful defeat like Saturday night’s 20-17 loss to Boston College in the newspaper the next morning.
Call it one of the few benefits of illiteracy.
Anyway, the mighty Tigers (8-3, 5-3 ACC) were denied a shot at their first ACC title since 1991 when the Boston College Eagles came from behind to beat them in Death Valley yesterday, a loss that could cost Clemson head coach Tommy Bowden his job.
Clemson’s defeat also set off a spirited debate here at FITSNews, with our founding editor Sic Willie hoping to commemorate the occasion with a reference to “Fly Like An Eagle” by the Steve Miller Band. As you can see, he was outvoted by the FITS gals, who selected the Bette Midler classic “Wind Beneath My Wings.” Which is from our favorite film, Beaches, incidentally.
So what’s on tap for next weekend? At long last, it’s time for Carolina-Clemson, baby …

Up until this post, I was star struck. Now…not so much. And as far as your spastic chickens….well, we’ll just see what the Tigers bring to Williams Brice.

Mourning Tiger,
Blame the FITS gals for this one, not dear old Sic Willie.
