What exactly does it mean when people in general and you in particular say, "we have to do something about preventive care"?

I can only think of a few things
1. Spend government money to preventively treat people.
2. Spend government money to convince people to lose weight, stop smoking, etc.
3. Force insurance companies to treat people with (better) preventive care.
4. Reform Medicare to allow for (better) preventive care.

All these might be necessary, but it seems that only the last (rather difficult) one would square with your free-market views. Am I missing something?

Prevention of chronic disease is a worthwhile venture. Properly done, it will save the State billions. It will enhance the lives of our citizens, and make SC a better place to live.

I don't care who promotes it or is involved...the prevention of chronic disease should be among our top priorities.

Hats off to Andre Bauer and anyone else willing to put themsleves on the line for this goal. More governmental officials should sign on and become involved.

will, will, sic(k) will!!!

You are such a pimp for the voucher scam. You know the real causes of the education issues in SC. We've pointed them out to you and your readers over and over and over and over.

The Energizer Bunny could take lessons.

Do we need to repeat them again and again and again: poverty, latent racism and a host of social issues you turn your head to.

Has Andre hired you, too? We know Big Daddy Shealy is still driving his propaganda train. Andre's pseudo concern for the elderly is a play straight out of Big Daddy's play book.

You've read it, right?

It's under the chapter called:
"Pander to the Elderly - They're Easy to Fool!"

Vouchers are clearly the solution. Particularly for the elderly.

Get Andre to create a voucher scam to address chronic disease. Make sure it also addresses world hunger and tooth decay.
