MEET JOSH GROSS, THE NEW MAN BEHIND FRED THOMPSON’S SOUTH CAROLINA MICROPHONE
FITSNews – October 16, 2007 – In an announcement that was heralded by the trumpet blasts of Ben Hur (you gotta click to listen), Fred Thompson’s presidential campaign has named former S.C. Club for Growth Executive Director Joshua Gross as its S.C. Communications Director, thus answering one of the “Who Will Fred Hire?” questions we asked a few months back. Gross will be working alongside veteran S.C. political consultant Walter Whetsell in helping Thompson’s national communications team frame its Palmetto State message.
“The day Rome falls there will be a shout of freedom such as the world has never heard,” Gross said. “For I am Judah Ben Hur, the slave who defied an empire for my beloved Esther.”
Actually, Gross said he couldn’t comment for this story – but if he could we’re betting that’s what he would have said. That, or “I shall force the old man, the Yankee and the Mormon to make bricks without straw. ” Wait … wrong epic.

If someone can handle that team of horses with such mastery, a presidential campaign should be nothing. They might as well swear Fred in right now.
