Peter,

Boeing's about to lose $1 billion over this thing (see below) ...

http://www.forbes.com/markets/2007/10/11/boeing-turkey-congress-markets-equity-cx_bw_1011markets40.html

... wonder how many jobs they'll have to cut to deal w/ the loss of that contract.

Sorry to have touched an Armenian nerve, but bad things happen, man, and will continue to happen as long as we live in a sinful world.

This kind of a posteriori "Oprah redemption" doesn't change a thing.

The importance/prudence/timeliness of the resolution aside, it is in part the fact that Turkey still denies it, and successfully bullies the rest of the world into believing/accepting that it didn't happen either, I would assume other national heritages who have lineage killed in the events at the time feel the same about it. On the resolution itself, tough issue - there are a lot of factors at stake here - and important considerations about how efficacious such resolutions are in the first place, as you point out. However:

Did it happen? Yes. Do people still argue that it didn't happen. Yes. And that is why some people still haven't gotten "the f*ck over it." Probably.
