… COP SUES FAMILY WHO NEARLY LOST INFANT TO DROWNING

FITSNews – October 10, 2007 – Okay, so here’s the “asshole lawsuit” story of the year: Baby Joey Cosmillo (pictured above) suffered irreperable brain damage and nearly died after falling into his family’s pool this January in Florida. The one year-old cannot walk, talk, see or even swallow. Now, believe it or not, one of the cops who arrived at the scene of the accident is suing Joey’s mother and grandparents. Why? Because there was a puddle of water on the floor and the cop, Sgt. Andrea Eichorn, slipped and fell upon entering the house. Here’s a quote from Eichhorn’s lawyer, David Heil, concerning the situation:

It’s a situation where the Cosmillos have caused these problems, brought them on themselves, then tried to play the victim.

Damn. We’re guessing there’s a special place in hell for people like attorney David Heil. Because let’s face it, the LAST thing anybody’s going to be thinking about as their baby fights for his life is throwing down a towel so some spastic, donut-eating cop doesn’t bust her ass and then file a lawsuit ten months later. As Joey’s grandfather said in the story, “of course there’s going to be water in the house. He was sopping wet when we brought him in.”

    Tort Reform anyone?

This family should counter-sue, ask for a jury trial, and then ask for damages from this bunghole cop. Incredible. Just incredible.

This kind of thing makes me sick. But then again, that’s the world we live in! Pray for these people.

I can’t keep up with what’s been going on
I think my heart must just be slowing down
Among the human beings in their designer jeans
Am I the only one who hears the screams
And the strangled cries of lawyers in love

God sends his spaceships to America, the beautiful
They land at six o’clock and there we are, the dutiful
Eating from TV trays, tuned into to Happy Days
Waiting for World War III while Jesus slaves
To the mating calls of lawyers in love

Last night I watched the news from Washington, the capitol
The Russians escaped while we weren’t watching them, like Russians do
Now we’ve got all this room, we’ve even got the moon
And I hear the U.S.S.R. will be open soon
As vacation land for lawyers in love

I’m just curious how this won’t fall under worker’s comp. if the officer was responding to a call? Either way it sounds like the officer involved is a ‘really nice person’ and the fact that thos people with the very terribly affect child trying to ‘play the victim,’ the nerve?

Seriously speaking, how could that lawyer make that comment with a straight face.

It gets worse. I just saw a video report on this on CNN.com, and this same jerk David Heil says something to the effect of “my client isn’t a bad person. The Cosmillos are the bad people.” Unbelievable!

If we all trust juries to decide who should be put to death by the state then we should all feel comfortable that any jury sitting on this case will do the right thing as well.

I don’t trust juries to decide who should be put to death by the state. So is it OK if I feel some ourtrage here, Crooner?

Now that the case has been dropped we should not forget the little boy, Joey. He’s the real victim here.
An assistance fund has been set up towards his medical care. Any Wachovia bank in the nation will take donations.
The account is under the Baby Joey Cosmillo Assistance Fund – Account #1010184896967. If you happen to bank with Wachovia you can wire funds directly using routing #063000021.

It so easy to blame and put the focus on someone else…the cop that got hurt in the line of duty.

Seriously, everyone is forgetting the fact the kid is the victim but ask yourself why.

Answer: He was left alone by the pool. So where were these good grandparents then?

It’s an easy fix…automatically the cop is the bad guy. For doing her job. Oh that’s right a female cop…then that’s even more reason to hang her.

Get over yourselves! I’m sure all these people that have bashed the cop have been in trouble with the law. It’s crystal clear.

Let’s just forget that a child is now brain damaged because of neglect. Yeah definitely much easier to blame the cop. That’s much easier.
