BARACK OBAMA’S EMPTY LAPEL THE LATEST SOURCE OF CAMPAIGN CONTROVERSY

FITSNews – October 4, 2007 – We weren’t at all shocked to see this “news story” about Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama’s decision not to wear an American flag on the lapel of his suits and jackets anymore. Why no suprise, you may ask? Because “news story” and “lapel” are pretty much synonymous, when you stop and think about it, people. Anyway:

“I decided I won’t wear that pin on my chest,” Obama said in (an Iowa TV) interview. “Instead, I’m going to try to tell the American people what I believe will make this country great, and hopefully that will be a testament to my patriotism.”

The television interview didn’t include an explanation for his decision or when he stopped wearing such a pin.

Campaign spokesman Tommy Vietor said Thursday that Obama didn’t plan to say more about his decision.

“I think he explained it pretty well,” Vietor said.

Uhhh … yeah. Because this is such a burning hot issue … well, it is if your name is Joe Wilson. We’ll probably have a press release from the Congressman any moment now demanding to know what Barack Obama’s “visceral hatred for America” is.

If we’re lucky there might even be a sentence about how he “feels naked” without his American flag lapel pin.
