PALMETTO STATE LEADS THE NATION IN VIOLENT CRIME
FITSNews – September 26, 2007 – South Carolina is the most violent state in the nation according to the FBI, and two South Carolina cities (Sumter and Florence) rank among the top five violent cities in the nation.
Once again, here’s our surprised face …
Maybe the little big man from Florence should focus a little more on people’s safety and a little less on green bean museums and other useless spending.

I have the perfect solution to the violence problem in Sumter and Florence. We provide the innocent citizens of those counties with state income tax credits or vouchers which are earmarked for private safety. Since it’s obvious that their law enforcement is not providing them with a “minimally adequate” degree of safety, they could use state money to hire their own law enforcement protection or simply to buy their own handguns. After all, why should some citizens of our state be ‘trapped in failing ” public protection systems when a private alternative is clearly at hand. We could even form a lobbying group for the purpose with a neat name like “Putting Victims in Charge,”

The sheer brilliance of your argument baffles us. You’re absolutely right, we should definitely give our failing schools another billion dollars over the next four years so they can remain DEAD LAST.
Hell, why not make it another two billion?
After all, having the dumbest population in the Western World isn’t really dangerous or anything … it’s not like anybody dies because our schools suck so bad.
So yeah, back the armored cars up to the taxpayer trough and keep on sucking!
