SIC WILLIE’S FARTKNOCKERS ADVANCE TO GREAT SANTINI LEAGUE WORLD SERIES
FITSNews – September 9, 2007 – After emerging victorious from a brutal, two-week slugfest with second-seeded “Notorious,” the FITS Fartknockers of the Great Santini League are headed to their first-ever Fantasy Baseball World Series this week. And while they’ll have to get past Alex Rodriguez and the top-seeded “Croon Crew” if they want to capture the most coveted trophy in all of sports, Fartknockers’ owner Sic Willie say his team isn’t intimidated.
“To be the best you’ve got to beat the best,” Sic Willie said. “We’re just going to take it one game at a time, play within ourselves, step up, give it 110%, play as a team, stay focused out there and just let the game come to us. We’ve overcome a lot of adversity and now we control our own destiny, so hopefully we’ll do what we have to do and take care of business. Did I forget any sports clichés? Oh yeah, there’s no ‘i’ in ‘team,’ people.”
Fartknockers’ starting corner infielder Dmitri Young (pictured) also spoke with reporters late Sunday, saying that the disposition of his Afro over the next two weeks would be a “gametime decision.”
