I personally think we have problems here in the US that need to be addressed, before we start saving the world.

There are hungry, uneducated and homeless people here in our own state and country. It's easy to give money to those in a far land, but it's hard to face it in your own community.

I have never liked Bono or his music. He may be a great humanitarian, but what about our neighbors right here, right now.

What a great campaign to be involved with! Not only is this the moral thing to do, it is in the best interest of national security for us to be involved.

Don,

You are exactly right. Ophra, Leo, etc, never give away thier own money. She is worht 1.3 billion dollars, and the cheap skate keeps it all like she might starve.

Read the book..."King of Kons" if u want to know about all these phoneys. These guys actually get paid to go to thier own charity affairs.

I first heard of the "One" campaign at a U2 Vertigo concert. Bono is to be commended for his efforts and his successes! I support the "One" fight to eradicate disease and poverty in the world. I don't think that it is only the U.S.'s role to do this. Other nations are beginning to see enormous prosperity, the kind we have enjoyed here for over 100 years.

Bono has taken this message globally & I hope we see other successful nations begin to take an active role in fighting global hunger, disease, African AIDS and tyranny. Rock on U2!

Bono is the best kind of celebrity activist. He's using HIS time and HIS money to make a difference, rather than blowing smoke on Oprah (ahem, DiCaprio). I remember an interview he gave a year or so ago when the 60 Minutes interviewer tried to ambush Bono into criticizing George W. Bush's AIDS policy.

Bono had a simple reply. He said something to the tune of: "At least George W. Bush is doing something."
