PATRIOT FANS PEDDLING FALSE HOPE

FITSNews – August 3, 2007 – We were peeping through NFL expert Peter King’s mailbag the other day when we happened upon an asinine, totally leading question from a typically uneducated and bombastic New England Patriots fan. “Mark of Boston” wrote:

“I was hoping you could give your thoughts on the Tarik Glenn retirement and how the sudden retirement of one of the preeminent players at one of the most crucial positions [especially for the Colts and Peyton Manning] shifts the balance of power in the AFC?”

Say what? Thankfully, this fearmongering bromide was put in his place by King, who pointed out that the Colts’ organization is “moving on like nothing ever happened” and that “they’ll miss Glenn, but you’d be naive to think a great offensive line coach like Howard Mudd and (QB Peyton) Manning wouldn’t figure a way to make Glenn’s absence no big factor in their efforts to repeat.” To which we can only add “boo-yah,” “touchdown,” and “making miracles happen.”

Give it up, Patriots.

I don’t think that the retirement of Glenn will hurt that much. Peyton gets rid of the ball to damn fast. However, I think that the defense will be worse than last year and that the offense will be slowed.

However, look at the Pats! The receivers, the emergence of a running game. And still having a defense schemed and led by a certifiable genius.

At least Peyton got one ring

Yeah, yeah, yeah. We’ll see you guys November 4 under the dome. Maybe we’ll see you again under the dome again in January if you make the playoffs.

If the Patriots make the playoffs? Ridiculous! You know they’ll make it, along with the Colts and Chargers.
