GENERAL ASSEMBLY OVERRIDES REPUBLICAN GOVERNOR’S VETO
FITSNews – June 19, 2007 -South Carolina taxpayers will shell out $2 million to help the state run its 2008 presidential primaries after the Republican-led S.C. House of Representatives and State Senate voted to override Gov. Mark Sanford’s veto of a bill which provides the funding.
Many Republicans – including Sanford – argued that in addition to being unfair to the taxpayers, the bill also aids the South Carolina Democratic Party, which is historically raises less money in support of its candidates than the state Republican Party.
Officials in both parties argued that the funding was necessary to ensure a fair election process and limit the likelihood of lawsuits tied to election complaints.

His veto’s get more meaningful everytime! They are about as successful as anything else he tries, that is, not very.
