GOVERNOR ASSURES SENATOR HE’S NOT RUNNING AGAINST HIM

FITSNews – June 15, 2007 – In response to our reporting about a recent poll that seemed to test the waters for a potential U.S. Senate run, S.C. Governor Mark Sanford has apparently called U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham and assured him that he has no intention of running for Graham’s Senate seat. Sanford also reportedly told Graham that his organization had nothing to do with the poll.

Graham has been under intense incoming fire recently from many in the Republican party for his controversial position on immigration reform, with the poll question only fanning those flames.

While Sanford has smoothed things over with Graham, our sources tell us that the governor has not yet taken the time to call S.C. Attorney General Henry McMaster to assure him that his organization was not behind a recent leak of sensitive information targeting McMaster’s children.

Too bad Sanford is not running for Linsey’s seat! I would have voted for him.
I will not vote for Ravenel.
I am looking for a true AMERICAN conservative even if it is 3rd party.

Correction:

Sanford to run against his own children’s god-father? Interesting, he would most likely win and can compete with the 4.5 million dollar war chest of the good senator…

Dude – if it’s on Facebook, it’s not “sensitive information.” So KAs are lusting after McM’s daughter and his son had some silly pictures taken of him after he passed out. This is just a part of the 21st century college experience, and it is what it is: good for a laugh.

Sanord could be talked into running for the US Senate and should be but the real money people in the Republican Party want McCain and Graham. I am not a Republican and as much as I distrust Democrats the Republicans may well lose Grahams senate seat if the wish to stick with their flamed out star. I cannot remember the last Democrat I voted for on a statewide or in a national election but I am being turned off by Republicans because they are becoming just like the Democrats in so many ways.
