MAYBE THE CHINESE SHOULD STICK TO BUILDING WALLS
FITSNews – June 12, 2007 – It wasn’t so much the blind leading the blind as it was the blind leading the communists. Which when you stop and think about it is pretty much the same thing. According to Reuters, two Chinese officials were thrown in jail yesterday for allowing a blind man to build a bridge … which believe it or not collapsed during construction and injured twelve people. From the story:
“After the blind contractor changed the blueprint, he carried out the work only using a roughly drawn draft of the plan, which caused the bridge to collapse,” the report said. (The official Chinese news agency) Xinhua did not explain how the contractor was able to run the project considering his inability to see.
You know the temptation here is to make fun of blind people. Which we’re going to resist. Or Chinese people. Which we’re also going to resist. That leaves only the communists and their state-controlled media apparatus to lampoon, but unfortunately we can’t think of anything especially witty to say at the moment. Or it could be we’re intentionally leaving you hanging with a vague ending like they did on The Sopranos.

The curious thing about this is how blueprints (flawless or otherwise) would effect how a blind person would manage the project?
