Money Can’t Buy Mitt Love
S.C. CAMPAIGN MONEY NOT FOLLOWING VOTERS’ PREFERENCE
FITSNews – June 12, 2007 - It’s all about the Benjamins. Or is it? If the latest presidential polls and campaign contribution information are to be believed, absolutely not. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who currently sits in fourth place in most Palmetto State polls, nonetheless leads the rest of the Republican field in his South Carolina fundraising efforts. On the Democratic side John Edwards, who places a distant second in most state polls to Hillary Clinton, raised more than six times as much South Carolina money this quarter as Clinton did. From the Greenville News:
In heavily Republican South Carolina … the 10 GOP candidates received $451,010 and seven Democrats, $299,470, according to the FEC. Edwards, who was John Kerry’s running mate in the 2004 presidential election, raised $186,109 from his native state, Clinton, $36,100; and Obama, $31,811. Romney, the former Massachusetts governor, took in $171,425 while former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani received $127,050 and Arizona Sen. John McCain, who leads Giuliani in polling, listed $122,640.
In case you were wondering, Sic Willie’s presidential campaign added $10.25 to his previous total of $11.5 dollars, but four dollars and eighteen cents of that was an in-kind contribution which came in the form of a blended Venti Mocha Frappucino. The Sic One also spent $7.84 out of his account on a ‘Mo Bigga ‘Mo Betta deluxe burrito at Columbia’s Yo Burrito, leading many to question whether his campaign’s current “burn rate” is sustainable.

So you’ve raised $7.32 but spent $7.84? By our calculations, that’s a 107 percent burn rate.
We will thus venture that, no, your campaign’s current burn rate in NOT “sustainable.”
We will, however, donate a very dull, dirty penny we found lying tails-up in pile of bird dung near a bus stop in five points.
So you’re up to -$.51 and well on your way to the White House.

Curious,
When we were babies they stole our lollipops. Sure we don’t remember it, but that’s what somebody told us.

In light of sic(k) willie’s history and the way he does business he better save those contributions for bond money.
