REPUBLICAN GOVERNOR TO ATTEND DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE IN ORANGEBURG, S.C.
FITSNews – April 26, 2007 - Republican S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford will attend tonight’s Democratic presidential debate in Orangeburg, S.C., sources tell FITSNews. And while some Palmetto State Democrats were up in arms at the gall of a GOP governor crashing Donkeypallooza, State Sen. Phil Leventis (D-Sumter) took Sanford’s presence as a good sign.
“I think he recognizes that one of the people at that debate is going to be the next president,” Leventis told FITSNews.
You know, this really shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to anybody. After all, everybody knows the most dangerous place in South Carolina is the distance between Mark Sanford and a television camera. And when multiple television cameras are present, the danger factor only goes up. In fact, you could probably kick a sleeping mother alligator in the face after stealing all of her baby alligator eggs and it would be safer by comparison. Or jump into a shark tank after slitting your wrists.
