RACHEL-MONICA MAKEOUT SESSION PROFOUNDLY DISAPPOINTS
FITSNews - March 29, 2007 - We had high hopes when we first learned that Rachel and Monica were going to make out on television. We even corrected Rachel when she tried to downplay it by saying it wasn’t a big deal.
Turns out she hit the nail on the head.
That’s because this video is perhaps the least arousing girl-girl liplock ever captured on film. Quoting Tyler’s reaction, “you could show me a video of two St. Bernards licking each other and I’d get more turned on.”
Amen.
As if the painful build-up dialogue (”You’ve got to trust somebody, sweetie”) wasn’t bad enough, when the two finally do get around to pecking each other dispassionately on the lips for half a second (sans tongue), the whole thing gets interrupted by these incredibly annoying cutaway shots (four of them, in fact) of some doofus cake boy from Monica’s office looking “geekspicious.”
Which is so typical of TV. After all, now that Rachel and Monica have finally gotten around to kissing each other after all these years, it was everybody’s one wish for that climactic moment to have it spliced together with multiple shots of some goofy, Matthew Modine-looking wanna-be with a french goatee, gay glasses and pointed sideburns.
Seriously, where did this idiot come from?
Of course if we had ever watched Monica’s awful new show then this character who so callously infringed upon our would-be moment of zen might have had marginal significance to us. But probably not. Heck, he could’ve been Lassie flying through the blackness of outer space in a tye-dyed doggie spacesuit delivering much needed oxygen to the Apollo 13 astronauts and looked less out of place.
As it was, he was just the icing on the cake of bad bicuriousity.
