20 Million Is A Lot
BUT MICROSOFT AIN’T GOT NOTHING ON US, PEOPLE
FITSNews – March 26, 2007 – So Microsoft has sold 20 million copies of its Vista operating system … in just a month. Meaning Bill Gates is probably even richer than we thought he was. From all the cool kids’ favorite newssource, TG Daily:
The Vista numbers have to be taken with a grain of salt, however. First, of course, there more PCs are sold today than five years ago and we do not know how Windows XP sold in the year before the introduction of Vista. And, the Vista numbers do not only include retail sales, but also OEM licenses distributed by PC vendors as well as Express Upgrades that shipped during the four weeks of launch (which we hear was a rather negligible number of copies.) Microsoft did not break out the numbers of retail sales, OEM licenses and Express Upgrades.
Okay, all that dork-speak made our heads hurt. Anyway, we here at FITSNews are not impressed. Not in the least. Nor are we even remotely worried about ambitious Wall Street projections that show a whopping eleventy gabillion people subscribing to our new Daily Press Briefing service next month. In fact, when reached for a comment in his hyperactive imagination supersonic jet, Sic Willie was quoted as saying “eleventy gabillion? … that ain’t nuthin’ but a thang.” Course you better e-mail him and sign up just to be on the safe side …
