Andre Henry Brown Seat

LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR RUMORED TO BE IN LINE FOR COASTAL CONGRESSIONAL SEAT

FITSNews – March 7, 2007 – A source close to Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer’s office tells FITSNews that the second term South Carolina Lieutenant Governor is contemplating a run for Congressman Henry Brown’s First District seat in the U.S. Congress, the seat previously held by S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford.

“Andre is not happy as Lieutenant Governor and wants out of Columbia,” our source says. “He wants to run for the First Congressional seat.”

It’s the second time in the last week that Bauer has been linked to a possible Congressional bid, according to Chief of Staff Mike Easterday, who said the Lt. Governor is actually “quite happy” where he is.

“Last week it was people saying he was going to run for Bob Inglis’ seat, this week it’s Henry Brown,” Easterday told FITSNews. “Andre worked very hard to stay Lt. Governor. He has no intention of leaving.”

Does anyone know where Andre calls “home”? Is it Cola? Charleston? Irmo?

It would make more sense for Andre to run against Henry Brown in 2010. Isn’t that guy like 117 years old?

Andre is much more likely to run against Inglis… He and Congressman Brown are great friends and Andre would never cross him… Inglis on the other hand has not only angered his entire base, but also endorsed Michael Campbell for Lt. Governor. Not to mention, Andre needs to repair his base in the 1st District, see Primary, Runoff and General Election Returns whereas his 4th District Base got him re-elected.

Draft Andre for the 4th Congressional District!!!

Can’t someone sell that fool some bad blow so he’ll die already?

DOT recomends against.

The FAA advises against Andre using DCA or IAD.

Bird Dogs are illegal in VA and DC.

I hope that Andre doesn’t run against Henry Brown and instead runs against Bob Inglis, but at this link “http://scstatehouse.net/members/bios/0126136349.html” he is listed as living in Charleston. Does anyone know if that is still his address?

If Andre was calculating a run for congress, he would have not moved to Charleston. He would have stayed in Chapin/Irmo and run for the 2nd district when Joe Wilson decides to do something else.

Jim Merrill is also rumored to be in envy of Henry Brown’s seat in congress.

Well, after Linda Ketner outed Andre, Lindsey Graham and Glen McConnell and a host of others (maybe Rocky D in that lovers embrace pictured above); I’d not rule out a bid in the first, IF Henry decides to run for Governor or run for the US Senate in 2014.

BTW, is Andre’s house in Charleston in the First or Sixth district? That might be a slight complication with a primary against Gary McLeod and Mike Reino
