Players Vie For T-Rav’s “That’s How I Roll” Award
FORGET LOMBARDI TROPHY, MVP AWARD - ALL COLTS AND BEARS WANT IS A “TOMMY” AWARD
FITSNews - February 4, 2007 - - Tom Brady may have three Super Bowl rings and two MVP awards, but he doesn’t have a “Tommy,” i.e. a Thomas Ravenel “That’s How I Roll” Award.
A six-foot tall, full body statue of S.C. Treasurer Thomas Ravenel made out of pure silver, the “Tommy” is awarded every year to the player who performs the best end zone celebration. In the event no touchdowns are scored, the “Tommy” goes to the player who does the best on-field celebration following a sack, fumble recovery, interception, first down or other “big play.”
Handed out along with the “Tommy” is the “Terry,” which goes to the player who cries like a baby and refuses to shake hands with his opponents at the conclusion of the Super Bowl. The “Terry” is named for Terry Sullivan, Mitt Romney’s South Carolina campaign manager and resident Jimmy Olsen to Sic Willie’s Superman.
