YOU WON’T SEE THIS VERY OFTEN, BUT WE WERE WRONG AND WE’RE APOLOGIZING FOR IT

FITSNews – January 23, 2007 - We’ve been the brunt of some pretty serious vitriol from both Greg and Betty Ryberg (pictured, with cute grandkid) over the years, and we’re not entirely sure that the couple hasn’t dished out much, much worse than they took on our blog earlier today.

But yeah, even we can admit it when things get taken a little too far – which is probably where we took them toward the end of this offending post.

We’re not going to take the post down (after all, we said it and still agree with most of it), but for what it’s worth FITSNews would like to extend a public apology to the Ryberg family. They can accept it, reject it, ignore it, whatever, but they deserve one regardless.

The whole goal of this site is to be funny, to get people to laugh at themselves and each other (and Britney, Lindsay and Paris, too) – and to draw attention when politicians act hypocritically, as Sen. Ryberg continues to do on the gambling issue.

But there wasn’t anything funny about the kind of name calling we engaged in earlier today.

We can bring the funny – and still create the controversy – without going there.
