Comedian Running For U.S. Senate?
AL FRANKEN SAYS HE’S SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING SENATE RUN IN MINNESOTA
FITSNews – January 17, 2007 – Comedian Al Franken is considering running for the U.S. Senate in Minnesota. For real.
“It’s unknown how people will respond to a comedian running for the Senate,” Franken says. “I need to figure out a way to let people know I’m extremely serious about Minnesotans and their lives.”
Hey, we’re all for it, even though Franken will probably be slightly to the left of Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon. Put together. And even though the redneck guy from Virginia with Islamophobia will probably not like it very much. Because comedians, like Muslims and Minnesotans, have no place in politics. Not in America, anyway, right Virgil?

Let me see, this is the same Al Franken that brought off color language to the airwaves on Prarie Home Companion about two years ago?
Garrison Keillor has more gravitas, John Belushi and Francisco Franco have more wit (even dead).
I’ll offer a slogan for Franken’s campaign, “This Time, Why Not The Worst?”
