SEC PLACES EIGHT TEAMS IN SPORTS ILLUSTRATED’S 2007 TOP 25 LIST

FITSNews – January 16, 2007 - Face it ACC, Big Ten, Pac 10 and Big 12 fans, the Southeastern Conference is the best football conference in the nation.

Our teams are better, our crowds are bigger and yes, our cheerleaders are hotter (no wonder both S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford and S.C. Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer were cheerleaders in college).

According to Sports Illustrated writer Stewart Mandel, eight of the Top 25 College Football Teams of 2007 hail from the SEC (including the 21st-ranked South Carolina Gamecocks). That’s two-thirds of the conference, people. In the Top 25. And two of the nation’s top three returning programs are SEC schools (Florida and LSU).

More importantly, the Auburn cheerleader pictured above is Krista Klumpp, a senior from Smiths Station, Alabama whose great-grandfather apparently invented Velveeta Cheese.

She says her perfect date is “a sporting event followed by a big dessert.”

Aye, Cabana Boy!

How sweet, a shot of a blonde Auburn cheerleader’s rack for Auburn alum Paul Adams.
