Girl-Crushing On Kathleen Parker December 31, 2006

FITSNews - December 31, 2006 - We totally loved Kathleen Parker’s column this morning.
Witty, flirtatious, mildly-irreverent and (as usual) exceptionally well-written, it was everything a good column should be, of course in all fairness we have had a longstanding girl-crush on the author.
In fact, we probably love Kathleen Parker almost as much as Sic Willie loves Kay Parker. Still.
We’re honestly not sure which is more amazing here: That someone on this planet writes better than we do (which Kathleen Parker does) or that someone partaking of the rarified air of the Washington Post Writers’ Group still remembers how to “make talk” with the unwashed masses?
Sure, we’ve been writing about Britney’s air-conditioned “area” and the Miss Slut America dramas for some time now, but it means something more when it’s Kathleen Parker dispensing the wit.
For example, in describing the fate of Miss Nevada Katie Rees, Parker wrote:
She lost her crown for a photo collection that showed her baring breast and thong, and mock-kissing other women where the sun doesn’t shine — unless you’re Spears or Lohan.
That is just awesome on its face, but the fact that it came from Kathleen Parker makes it double awesome.
Don’t get us wrong, we still love our stuffy gang of DC columnwonks and policyists, but it’s refreshing to see a nationally-syndicated writer who actually has a feel for what’s happening in her nation … and a good one, at that.
Bravo, Kathleen. And keep up the great work.
