FALCONS QUARTERBACK USES JERRY MAGUIRE EXPRESSION TWICE IN SAME SATELLITE RADIO INTERVIEW

FITSNews – December 29, 2006 - Atlanta Falcons’ quarterback Michael Vick is our hero.

First off, he called it like he saw it immediately following the Falcons’ 10-3 loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, saying of Atlanta’s coaching staff, ”either we’ve got to come out and throw the football or come out and try to establish the run.”

Kind of makes sense.

Then he stuck to his guns after his soon to be ex-coach, Jim Mora, tried to pass off Vick’s comments as “frustration” on the part of the young quarterback.

In a satellite interview broadcast Thursday afternoon Vick said hell no, he wasn’t frustrated or in any way emotional when the comments were made.

In fact he said he was, and we quote, “just keeping it real.” Then he talked about some other stuff for awhile, and then he came back again a little later and said for a second time that he was, and we quote, “just keeping it real.”

It may have been the greatest sports interview of all time.

As cool as Vick is, though, it’s still not a great time to be a fan of the Atlanta Falcons. Which thankfully we’re not.
