How Washington Keeps Classified Secrets
FORMER NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISOR HID TOP SECRET FILES UNDER CONSTRUCTION TRAILER
FITSNews - December 21, 2006 - It’s not exactly Whittaker Chambers and the Pumpkin Patch, but somehow the notion that a former National Security Advisor would lift a bunch of top secret files from the National Archives and hide them under a construction trailer strikes us as somewhat troubling.
The fact that it actually happened strikes us as even more troubling.
The DC Press Corps is having a field day with this story, like it’s something out of a spy movie. Of course in spy movies there are dashing secret agents in tuxedos, exotic women wearing too much lipstick, crazy bald villains with elaborate gadgets for preparing martinis and lots and lots of explosions.
In real life, though, all we get is Sandy Berger’s fat ass walking down to a construction site looking for Leroy the trash collector.
Talk about a let-down.
